Recreation Areas

Spread out all over the region you will find different parks and recreational areas that are equipped with picnic tables, benches, barbeques, etc. There you can relax a bit in the outdoors, surrounded by nature. The parks are located in:

Zumalde in Maeztu, near the public pools and soccer field along the banks of the Barrón river, and is equipped with a bar, fountains, barbecues, playground, and changing rooms.

Okon in Bernedo next to the hermitage which has tables, benches, a playground, fountain, and outdoor exhibit of traditional agricultural tools. It also has a covered hall with a bar. You can request to get the key to use this room (Information: Tel: 945378041).

Fuentes de Soto in Bernedo with benches, tables, and barbecues.

Ibernalo in Santa Cruz de Campezo, next to the hermitage with tables, benches, barbecues, a fountain, and a playground. It has a covered hall. To use it, you must ask the parish's permission. (Information: Tel: 945415096)

Fresnedo in Santa Cruz de Campezo, next to the Ega River and swimming area. It has benches, tables, barbecues, and sports facilities.

Santa Lucia in Orbiso next to the hermitage with tables, benches, barbecues, and a fountain.

Opacua above the town of Opacua in some fields surrounded by trees which has tables, benches, and barbecues.

Santa Teodosia in the Valle de Arana located on the high part of the Iturrieta mountains next to the hermitage in a stand of beech trees that is equipped with a fountain, tables, benches, and barbecues. It has a covered hall. To use it, you must ask the brotherhood?s permission. (Information: Tel: 945406111)

San Bartolomé in Lagrán next to the hermitage and camping area with tables, benches, and barbecues. It has a covered hall. To use it, you must ask the city's permission. (Information: Tel: 945378059)

Alto puerto Herrera (Peñacerrada): It has benches, tables, barbecues, and a fountain.
