The municipalities of Arraia-Maeztu and Bernedo are the largest in the Montaña Alavesa region. Arraia-Maeztu is made up of various valleys located around Berrón creek (Valley of Arraia) and Musitu creek (Valley of Laminoria) and surrounded by Mount Iturrieta and Mount Vitoria.

Maestu is the populated area where most of the services are located in the municipality. The rest of the populated areas are made up of small villages that are spread out over the valleys.

Sand quarries, asphalt plants, sawmills, and cardboard manufacturing plants are some of the industrial activities that combine with local farming in this natural environment that is surrounded by the beech trees of Azaceta pass and the Sierra de Entzia.

In the municipality of Arraia-Maeztu, you can?t forget the Izki National Park, the third largest national park in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
